12-year-old boy Injured by Hit-and-run Driver on Mar Vista Drive in Vista
VISTA, CA (February 26, 2020) – A 12-year-old boy was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Vista late in the afternoon on Tuesday. The February 25 incident occurred on Mar Vista Drive in the 1000 block.
The time was roughly 5:00 p.m., the San Diego County Sheriff’s office said.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Toyota sedan, white in color—hit the boy and left the incident site, according to Ted Greenawald. Greenawald is a lieutenant.
A second vehicle—which has not been described—may have struck the boy also. The driver of the second vehicle stayed at the incident site. The identity of the second driver has not been reported, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Responders arrived and transported the victim by airlift to Rady Children’s Hospital. The injuries he suffered included cuts to his face and an injured leg. His current condition is not known.
