Investigation Underway After One Killed in Rollover Crash at Intersection
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 13, 2025) — A tragic rollover collision in Victorville claimed one life Tuesday night, prompting a large emergency response and an ongoing investigation by authorities. The crash occurred around 8:49 p.m. at the intersection of Sheep Creek Road and Chevoit Road in San Bernardino County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Initial reports indicate that a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy was the first to arrive at the scene and found a chaotic and devastating situation. An SUV had overturned and was blocking both lanes of the roadway, while a sedan involved in the crash had suffered major front-end damage. The scene was quickly secured as it became apparent that the collision had resulted in a fatality.
CHP Officers Arrived And Quickly Determined There Was a Fatality Involved
CHP dispatch logs confirm the crash was escalated to a fatal traffic collision shortly after officers arrived. Emergency medical personnel responded, but despite efforts, at least one individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
In addition to emergency medical units, multiple tow companies—including Victor Valley Towing and Desert Valley Towing—were called to assist in vehicle recovery and the preservation of potential evidence. The overturned SUV and the damaged sedan were removed as investigators worked late into the night to document the scene and begin reconstructing the events that led to the deadly incident.
Officials Continue to Investigate The Factors The Lead To The Accident
Officials have not confirmed how the crash occurred, whether speed, impairment, or other factors may have played a role, or how many occupants were in each vehicle. CHP is urging any witnesses who may have seen the crash or the vehicles leading up to the collision to come forward with information.
Traffic in the area was temporarily halted while the investigation and cleanup were underway. The intersection was fully reopened several hours later, after the scene was cleared and preliminary findings were recorded.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Authorities are expected to release more information as it becomes available.
