VICTORVILLE, CA (June 27, 2018) — A crash occurring Thursday afternoon, June 21, critically injured a motorcyclist in Victorville.
The collision occurred in the 15500 block of Nisqualli Road, east of 11th Avenue roughly around 3:35 p.m.
A deputy at the scene said a green Altima was heading westbound and the motorcycle was heading eastbound. The car attempted to turn left into the driveway of a residence on Nisqualli Road and crossed into the path of the motorcycle, according to officials.
The impact threw the rider from the motorcycle. He suffered life-threatening injuries.
According to a passenger of the Altima, Patsy Florez-Gomez, the vehicle waited for the eastbound light at 11th Avenue to turn red and for traffic to clear before it turned. She said there was no time to react, because the bike is moving fast.
Rescuers requested an airlift to take the victim to a hospital.
According to the report, officers at scene of the accident performed a field sobriety test on the driver of the vehicle. The driver cooperated with officers during the investigation.
