Vehicle Hits Firefighter Who was Working on Woolsey Fire
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (November 15, 2018) – A vehicle struck a firefighter who had been at work on the Woolsey Fire early in the morning on Thursday. The accident occurred on Deer Creek Road, to the north of Pacific Coast Highway, Calfiornia Highway Patrol says. The accident site was on Ventura County’s south coast, where the Woolsey Fire has been burning.
The time of the accident was roughly 12:20 a.m.
According to reports, a civilian vehicle hit the firefighter. Responders transported the firefighter by airlift to Los Robles Medical Center trauma center, located in Thousand Oaks. Reports say the victim suffered injuries that are major. His current condition has not yet been reported, nor has his name.
The person who had been driving the vehicle, reports say, was a resident of the area.
Reports say that the accident occurred at the site where firefighting crews had been working to control a flare up of fire that began burning in the morning on Tuesday on Boney Mountain.
