Hit-and-run Driver Strikes and Injures Teenaged Skateboarder in Ventura
VENTURA, CA (March 18, 2019) – A teenaged skateboarder was hit and injured by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday night in Ventura. The March 16 accident occurred on Darling Road in the 10900 block.
The time was roughly 10:16 p.m., the Ventura Police Department said.
Reports say that police think the skateboarder—identified as a boy 14 years old—had been traveling west on Darling Road when the suspect vehicle, which had been heading east, hit him.
Respondents arrived on scene and transported the injured boy to Ventura County Medical Center. The injuries he suffered were described as moderate, but not life threatening. His condition was described as stable. Reports say the boy was not wearing a helmet when the accident happened.
The person who struck the boy did not stop to help him. Police have not made public any details about the vehicle or the driver, but said that investigators found physical evidence where the incident took place.
