Five People Injured in Vehicle Crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura

VENTURA, CA (September 26, 2019) – Five people were injured in the afternoon on Wednesday when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed on Pacfiic Coast Highway in Ventura County. The September 25 incident occurred near Deer Creek Road and to the south of it.

The time was roughly 3:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Reports say a vehicle, described as a Toyota, had been heading north on the highway. For reasons that are not known, it went off the road, and hit a utility pole on the opposite side of the highway. The vehicle then fell down to the beach.

Responders arrived and transported the driver by airlift to Los Robles Medical Center located in Thousand Oaks. The driver suffered injuries that were described as moderate. His current condition is not known. He was identified as Thomas Kren, 69 years old and a resident of Santa Monica.

Four people had been traveling as passengers in the vehicle. They were identified as a man 36 years old, a woman, and a boy 2 years old, all residents of Canada. Their names have not been reported.

Another passenger was identified as a man 64 years old and a resident of Santa Barbara. Responders transported the victims to hospitals in the area. The injuries the victims suffered were described as minor.

Investigators are working to gather details and information to understand what circumstances contributed to the crash.
