Crash on Highway 33 North of Ventura Topples Utility Lines; Closes Road
VENTURA, CA (January 15, 2019) – A crash late at night on Monday near Ventura toppled utility lines and caused authorities to close Highway 33 in both directions. The January 14 accident occurred to the north of the city, near Casitas Vista Road and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a bit after 11:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the crash knocked down utility lines, which ended up on the road. Respondents from the California Highway Patrol, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and Ventura County Fire Department arrived on scene. According to the California Highway Patrol, personnel from the utility were called to the scene. As of Tuesday morning, the road was still closed.
The type of vehicle that hit the utility pole has not yet been reported, nor who was driving at the time of the crash. The person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence have not yet been reported. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling as an occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
It is not known from reports if anyone was hurt in the accident, nor what led to, and caused the crash. Investigators are looking into the details and information to find out why the accident occurred. No other details are currently available.
