Driver Suffering From Medical Emergency Crashes into Liquor Store in Venice

VENICE, CA (April 29, 2019) – A driver who police said suffered a medical emergency crashed into a liquor store in Venice in the late morning on Sunday. The April 28 accident occurred on Venice Boulevard in the 1000 block, at the Day & Night Liquor and Market.

The time was roughly 11:13 a.m., according to Norma Eisenman. Eisenman is an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Reports say that the vehicle—described as a Subaru Outback—smashed into the building, broke the glass window, and knocked down items inside.

The person who had been driving the vehicle, Eisenman said, seemed to have had a medical emergency prior to the crash. Respondents took the driver to a hospital. The identity of the driver, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known what type of medical emergency he suffered.

Reports say that a person working as a cashier at the store was hurt, suffering injuries that were described as minor. The person’s identity has not been reported.

The identity of the store owner has also not been reported. Investigators are continuing their examination of the details and information.
