Four-vehicle Crash on Highway 14 Injures Two People in Canyon Country
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 21, 2021) – Two people were critically injured Saturday afternoon when four vehicles collided on Highway 14 in Canyon Country. The impact of the crash threw one victim out of a vehicle, and trapped another victim inside the wreckage of a vehicle.
The May 15 incident occurred on the southbound side of the roadway, close to Soledad Canyon Road.
The time was roughly 3:23 p.m., Ed Pickett said. Pickett is a Los Angeles County Fire Department supervisor.
The crash involved four vehicles, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. Responders transported two victims to a hospital in the area.
One person had been thrown out of a vehicle in the crash, and the other person had been trapped in the wreckage of a vehicle. Reports do not say which vehicle each person had been traveling in.
The patients suffered injuries that were described as critical. The identities of the injured people have not been reported.
None of the drivers of the four vehicles that collided have been identified in reports. It is not known if passengers were present in any of the vehicles that crashed.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and the sequence of events that transpired in the incident. They are gathering information about the collision.
