A car drove through the front window of a doughnut shop, located at 2509 S. Harbor Blvd. in Santa Ana, at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to police reports.
At least one employee and one customer were injured in the Donut Star shop. The injuries were reported to the police at 5:37 p.m. Both people were treated at the scene and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
The elderly driver and his passenger were not injured in the crash. The driver, identified only as a man in his 60s, told police that the car would not go into park, although skid marks surrounding the scene indicate that he may have hit the accelerator and not the brake.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to treat the injuries. The crash also severed a gas line, which gas crews had to repair.
The driver did not appear to be impaired.
