Friday night a car carrying two men crashed killing both of them. They both were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation. The car spun out of control and rolled down a 50 foot embankment. It occurred near James Creek Rd.
One of the men was identified as Ernest Crain, 54, of Anguin.
The car was still burning when CalFire fighters found it.
The second person in the car was Jayaram Notestine, a communications student at Pacific Union College.
People described Jayarm as, “sweet, kind, friendly and thoughtful”. They said, “His smile could light up a room”.
He was a cyclist, very adventurous and loved nature.
He was to graduate in the spring with a BS in communication.
Lisa Bissell Paulson, vice president for student services, spoke of the great loss to the school, his family, and the community.
He was described further as a quiet but athletic soul.
Chaplains, counselors and pastors were made available on campus to aid in the students’ grieving process.
A ‘come and go’ support session was held Tuesday, also to aid the students and to support the family.
Jayaram is survived by his father, bob Notestine, and sister, Avania.
A memorial service is planned.
The family indicated that they appreciate the thoughts and prayers of the community.
