Suspects Fleeing Police in Stolen Car Crash into Wall in Torrance
TORRANCE, CA (April 9, 2019) – Suspects who were fleeing police pursuit crashed into a wall in Torrance on Monday night. The incident occurred where Merrill Drive and Carson Street intersect.
The time was roughly 9:25 p.m., according to Ronald Harris. Harris is a sergeant with the Torrance Police Department.
Reports say authorities were notified that a vehicle had been stolen out of a store’s parking lot. When officers saw the vehicle, they began a pursuit, which was brief, until the vehicle smashed into a retaining wall.
According to Harris, the vehicle erupted in flames after the impact, and officers extinguished the fire. Police took three people into custody, reports say. The identities of the people who were traveling in the suspected stolen vehicle have not been reported, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. The person who was driving the vehicle has not been identified.
