Golf Cart Accident Leaves 78-Year-Old Man Dead in Palm Desert
PALM DESERT, CA (December 29, 2024) – Timothy Lillard, a 78-year-old resident of Palm Desert, died following a golf cart accident in the Monterey Country Club gated community, authorities reported.
The incident occurred around noon on Saturday, December 29, on Avenida Del Sol. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lillard was driving a golf cart across Avenida Del Sol when he collided with a moving car.
Crash Leaves Golf Cart Overturned and Timothy Lillard With Severe Injuries
The impact caused the golf cart to overturn, leaving Lillard with severe injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Lillard succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, January 2.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and any contributing factors.
