Following a long and eventful weekend, the day after Labor Day can always jolt everybody back into reality. While commuters get back on the road and while other families travel back home from vacation, the freeways can get fairly crowded and the possibility of accidents increases. Most individuals spend the Labor Day weekend trying to enjoy the last weekend of summer, but what many fail to keep in mind is that they need to be cautious and safe drivers on the way back home.

On the Tuesday morning following Labor Day Monday, a fatal car accident took place in Southern California. Early Tuesday morning around 5 a.m., a crash on the Interstate 5 freeway was reported. There were at least three vehicles involved, one of which was a big rig. The accident is believed to be severe and so far, at least two wrongful deaths have resulted from the car accident. Other personal injuries have also been attained.

At least four people involved in the scene received some severe personal injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. They are in critical condition. At least one child has been seriously hurt and has been taken to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. There has been footage on television which captures the state of the accidents. Traffic is shown to be at a standstill as policemen try to sort out the scene. Two medical helicopters have been sent to the area to pick up the injured.

It is unclear on what caused this three-vehicle crash, and California Highway Patrol closed four lanes of the freeway to investigate the scene. The cars were traveling southbound when they all piled into one another.

All four lanes of the I-5 South were closed. This must have caused a huge traffic delay for morning commuters during rush hour. However, CHP officers were allowing cars to pass through the right shoulder of the freeway as they looked over the car accident scenario.

Wrongful death accidents can take everyone by surprise. What was a long and good weekend can turn into a tragic and saddening event. Car accidents often cause many people to grieve; many people take months to recover.

It is important to contact a personal injury lawyer if you were to get involved in a car accident. If you have lost a loved one in a wrongful death accident, you also have a right to consult with a lawyer and seek compensation for your pain and suffering.
