Multi-vehicle Collision on 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks Causes Injuries

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (June 25, 2019) – A collision involving multiple vehicles in the afternoon on Saturday on the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks caused injuries. The June 22 incident occurred on the freeway’s northbound side, and impacted the southbound side as well.

The time was a little before 4:00 p.m.

Reports say a vehicle crashed in an area of the freeway close to Moorpark Road, and went into the divider in the center. The vehicle ended up in the lanes that are southbound.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the rail was bulged into the southbound lanes of the freeway. Reports say the collision involved three vehicles, but none of the vehicles have been described. It is not known from reports what caused the collision, or the sequence in which the vehicles collided.

According to reports, four people suffered injuries that were characterized as minor. Responders transported one victim to a hospital. Three other injured people did not want to be treated.

None of the victims has been identified, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. It is not known from reports who the driver was in each vehicle, and who may have been traveling as a passenger.

The incident caused the left lane on the northbound side to be blocked, and on the southbound side, two left lanes were blocked. Investigators are working to understand the circumstances that led to the incident.
