Temecula Rollover Accident on 15 Freeway Leaves 1 Dead

1 Killed in 2 Vehicle Accident After Truck Rolls Over Near Winchester Road
Temecula, CA (August 6, 2024) – A fatal two-vehicle rollover accident on the 15 Freeway near Winchester Road claimed one life early Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the crash at approximately 6:18 a.m. The collision occurred in the No. 2 lane under unclear circumstances, involving a Toyota Camry and a pickup truck equipped with oversized tires. The impact caused the pickup to overturn into the center divider, ejecting the driver onto the southbound shoulder of the freeway.
Both Sides of the 15 Freeway Were Closed To Assist The Victims
Emergency responders, including Murrieta Fire and Rescue and CHP officers, arrived at the scene minutes later. Both sides of the freeway were temporarily closed to allow crews to assist the victims and clear the roadway.
The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries, while the pickup driver suffered fatal injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
All lanes of the freeway remained closed until approximately 10:30 a.m. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the accident to contact the Temecula CHP office at 951-466-4300.
