Driver Smashes into Home on Oro Grande Street in Sylmar, Flees Scene
SYLMAR, CA (June 19, 2020) – Early in the morning on Thursday, a driver smashed into a home in Sylmar and fled the scene. The June 18 incident occurred on Oro Grande Street in the 14000 block, close to Dronfield Avenue.
The time was roughly 1:30 a.m., Drake Madison said. Madison is an officer with Los Angeles Police.
Reports say that according to Angelo Braye–who is a resident of the home–a car smashed into the room where he and his girlfriend had been asleep with their dogs. According to reports, the two suffered injuries that include bruises and cuts. The name of Braye’s girlfriend has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle fled the incident site.
Inspectors arrived and yellow-tagged the structure due to the damage limiting habitability. The owner of the property has not been identified in reports.
Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call traffic investigators with the Los Angeles Police for the San Fernando Valley area. The number is 818-644-8000.
