Suspect Fleeing Los Angeles Police in Stolen Amazon Truck Collides with Vehicle in Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 30, 2021) – A driver who was fleeing from police in a stolen Amazon truck in Hollywood crashed into a vehicle late in the afternoon on Tuesday. The September 28 crash occurred where Wilton Place and Santa Monica Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly after 5:45 p.m., according to Jeff Lee. Lee is an officer with Los Angeles Police.
The incident began on Whitley Avenue in the 1800 block, where the delivery truck was reported stolen. Officers pursued the Amazon delivery truck, and in roughly 2 miles, the suspect driver was involved in a crash.
The delivery van collided with a vehicle–described as a Toyota sedan, gray in color.
Responders transported the person who had been driving the Toyota to a hospital. The types of injuries the person suffered, and current condition, are not known. The person has not been identified in reports.
Authorities arrested the suspect driver of the Amazon delivery truck.
Investigators are continuing their efforts on the incident.
