Rolls-Royce is is being forced to recall 27 2013 Rolls-Royce Phantoms.  The reason they have set this recall is because of problems with the fuel filler neck.  The vehicles may be missing the anti-misfueling device in the fuel filler neck. These problems can obviously increase the risk of a fire hazard in the vehicle according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“The devices prevent misfueling and discharge static electricity and without the anti-misfueling device, there is an increased risk of fire from static electricity,” said NHTSA in its summary of the problem.

The cars that are being affected by the recall were built from November 2, 2012- January 18, 2013. The company is claiming that they became aware of the problem through its internal quality control processes.

Rolls-Royce told federal safety regulators that it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall.

The recall has now begun. The Dealers are willing to replace any affected fuel filler necks. Owners can contact Rolls-Royce at 1-877-877-3735.
