Hit-and-run Driver Strikes and Kills Bicyclist in Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY, CA (October 8, 2018) – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a bicyclist in Sun Valley Sunday night. The October 7 accident occurred at Bellingham Avenue and Srathern Street, Norma Eisenman said. Eisenman is an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The time was roughly 8:30 p.m.
According to investigators, the bicyclist was traveling east in a lane designated for bicycles when a vehicle that was heading east hit him. The vehicle, described as an SUV, was dark in color, perhaps gray.
Eisenman indicated the vehicle stopped for several seconds, and then went on and did not offer assistance to the injured man.
Responders took the victim to a hospital, where he died. He was identified as a man 45 years old. His name has not been reported.
