Hit-and-run Driver Strikes and Kills Bicyclist on San Fernando Road in Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY, CA (April 19, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday night in Sun Valley. The April 18 incident occurred on San Fernando Road, close to Penrose Street and to the west of it.
The time was roughly 8:35 p.m., according to Nicholas Prange. Prange is a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Respondents arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the site of the accident. The identity of the victim, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known from reports where the bicyclist had been riding when struck by the vehicle. According to Jeff Lee, who is an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, the vehicle involved in the incident was described as a Dodge, red in color. No other details or information has been reported regarding the incident, and a description of the driver is not known.
A standing reward of $50,000, offered by the city, is given for information that leads to hit-and-run drivers who are involved in collisions that cause death being captured and convicted.
