For Sacramento and Elk Grove drivers, according to the Allstate America’s Best Drivers report, their chances of being involved in an accident are worse than the national average. Drivers in Sacramento will be involved in a crash every 8.1 years. Elk Grove drivers are slightly less likely to be in an accident, with a crash every 8.2 years. Using claim data, Allstate’s report ranks America’s 200 largest cities according to car collision frequency to reveal which cities have the safest drivers.
The Sacramento Bee’s news story states that Sacramento was ranked 140 among cities, Elk Grove ranked 137. Los Angeles was 182, New York 171, San Francisco 185, Washington D.C. 193, Eugene Oregon 9, and Reno 8. Fort Collins, Colorado was ranked the safest driving city in the U.S. Allstate’s report offers that drivers in U.S. cities that have populations of one million or more are more likely than the national average to experience a collision.
