51-Year-Old Driver Dies in 2-Car Crash in Hemet
Hemet, CA (October 26, 2023) – In a somber turn of events, Steve Mantanez lost his life in a two-car accident that unfolded on Wednesday near the intersection of Warren Road and Devonshire Avenue.
The Collision Between A SUV and a Sedan Occurred On the Western Outskirts of Town
According to Hemet police officials, the fatal collision involved a sedan and an SUV on the western outskirts of Hemet. The vehicles involved were identified as a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Nissan Pathfinder, and the collision occurred on Warren Road under circumstances yet to be determined.
Upon receiving the distress call, paramedics from the Hemet Fire Department swiftly arrived at the scene. Tragically, they discovered 51-year-old Steve Mantanez of Murrieta, the driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer, with injuries that proved fatal. Despite their efforts, Steve Mantanez could not be saved. The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was immediately transported to an out-of-area trauma center and is currently listed in critical condition.
