Man Walking in Spring Valley Struck and Killed by Vehicle
SPRING VALLEY, CA (January 18, 2019) – A man who was walking in the area close to Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley was hit by a vehicle and killed Thursday night. The January 17 accident occurred on Sweetwater Springs Boulevard close to Loma Lane.
The time was roughly a bit after 8:20 p.m., Tommy Doerr said. Doerr is a patrol officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Respondents arrived to help, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The identity of the victim—including the person’s name, age, and city of residence—have not yet been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to Doerr. The name, age, gender, and city of residence of the driver have not yet been reported. The type of vehicle involved in the accident is not known.
It is not known from reports where the victim was located when the accident occurred, and if the person was walking along the street or trying to cross the road. Investigators are examining the details and information to find out what led to, and caused, the accident.
