Three People Killed in Crash; 1 Fatality Unidentified in Santa Clarita, CA
SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 29, 2022) – Late in the afternoon on Sunday in Santa Clarita, a crash killed three people and injured two other people. The August 28 crash occurred at Riverview Road and San Francisquito Canyon Road.
The time was roughly 4:11 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
Two vehicles–described as an SUV, blue in color; and a BMW, white in color–collided.
No details have been reported on the line of travel of each vehicle prior to colliding.
Responders found three people died at the crash site.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified two of the people who died.
Shane Rivera was 41 years old.
Spencer Thomas was 28 years old.
The third person who died has not yet been identified by authorities.
Two people suffered injuries that were described as critical. Their current conditions are not known.
The two patients have also not been identified in reports.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and they are collecting information to determine why and how it happened.
