Vehicle Slams into Freeway Pole on 710 Freeway in South Gate; Four People Die
SOUTH GATE, CA (May 22, 2019) – A vehicle slammed into a freeway pole on the 710 in South Gate, killing four people in the morning on Wednesday. The May 22 accident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, in an area close to Firestone Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly 3:15 a.m.
Reports say the vehicle had been traveling at a high speed when it crashed, and that witnesses had described to officials with the California Highway Patrol they had seen two vehicles that were racing before the incident.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, four people died in the collision. The identities of the victims—including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence—have not been reported. It is not known who had been driving the vehicle. The vehicle has not been described.
