Woman Killed When Car Smashes into House in Simi Valley; Two Others Critically Injured
SIMI VALLEY, CA (December 12, 2019) – Nicole Segura was killed when a car smashed into a house in Simi Valley in the morning on Tuesday. The December 10 incident occurred close to where Morley Street and Sycamore Drive intersect.
The time was roughly 1:30 a.m., according to Steve Shorts. Shorts is a commander with the Simi Valley Police.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Nissan 350Z—overturned and smashed into the house. Segura was one of three people who had been traveling in the vehicle. Responders arrived and pronounced her deceased at the incident site. Segura was 20 years old.
Responders worked to free another victim who was trapped in the wrecked vehicle. Responders transported her to a hospital. The types of injuries she suffered are not known. Her current condition was described as critical.
The victim’s identity, including her name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Responders also transported a victim who had been thrown from the vehicle when the incident occurred. The types of injuries he suffered have not been reported. His current condition was described as critical.

According to Shorts, investigators think the vehicle had been traveling at a fast speed on Sycamore Drive, and while attempting to execute a turn to the right to Morley, it went out of the driver’s control.
The person who had been driving the vehicle when the crash happened has not been identified. Authorities said the vehicle is a two-seater, and had been carrying three people when the crash happened.
No one inside the house was hurt in the incident, according to Dan Preston, who is a battalion chief with the Ventura County Fire Department. It is not clear if the house remains structurally sound. The identities of the owners of the house have not been reported.
