Man Killed in Collision in Simi Valley While Riding Motorcycle
SIMI VALLEY, CA (April 8, 2019) – Jason Char was killed in a collision on Saturday morning in Simi Valley. The April 6 accident occurred on Texas Avenue in the 2900 block.
The time was roughly 10:33 a.m.
Reports say Char had been traveling on a Kawasaki motorcycle when his bike collided with a vehicle—described as a Toyota Corolla. Char’s motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the sedan.
Respondents arrived to help the victims. Char died at the site of the accident. He was 38 years old and a resident of Simi Valley.
Respondents transported the person who had been driving the sedan—identified as a woman 60 years old and a resident of Simi Valley—to a hospital. The injuries she suffered were described as moderate. Reports say her condition in stable. Her name has not been reported.
According to Simi Police, an officer with the California Highway Patrol’s Moorpark station saw the bike heading west on Alamo Street close to Texas Avenue prior to the collision. According to reports, the officer indicated the bike was moving at a speed that was not safe for the area.
