Man Struck and Killed in Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY, CA (February 25, 2019) – Gerald Munyon, Jr. was struck and killed early in the morning on Friday in Simi Valley. The February 22 accident occurred behind the address of 1470 East Los Angeles Avenue in an alley.
The time was roughly 6:00 a.m., according to police.
Reports say that a vehicle had been traveling south in the alley, and when it went around a corner, it hit Munyon. According to police, Munyon—who was described as homeless—had been lying in the middle of the road.
Respondents arrived and pronounced Munyon—47 years old and a resident of Simi Valley—deceased at the accident scene.
The person who drove the vehicle stayed at the accident site and cooperated with investigators, police say. The identity of the driver—including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence—have not yet been reported. The type of vehicle involved in the accident has not been described.
