Driver Runs from Big Rig Crash on 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks
SHERMAN OAKS, CA (March 11, 2021) – Early in the morning on Thursday in Sherman Oaks, a big rig crashed on the 405 Freeway, and the driver ran from the scene, according to witnesses. The March 11 incident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, close to where the ramp that connects to the 101 Freeway is located.
The time was roughly 4:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
The truck ended up jack-knifed on the freeway, but what preceded the crash has not been reported. According to people who witnessed the incident, the person who had been driving the big rig ran from the incident site, and was heading toward the Ventura Freeway.
It is not known if anyone was hurt in the incident.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and to locate the truck driver. At this time, no other details are known.
