Crash on Highway 101 Near Seacliff in North Ventura County Injures Two
SEACLIFF, CA (July 8, 2020) – In the afternoon on Monday, a crash on Highway 101 in north Ventura County injured two people. The July 6 incident occurred on the southbound side of the highway, near Seacliff and to the south of it.
The time was roughly a little before 3:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a pickup truck–went out of the driver’s control, for reasons that are not known. The truck fell 40 feet off the highway, and landed below on an embankment.
Responders arrived and worked to free a passenger who was trapped in the wreckage. They took the victim to VCMC for treatment.
The types of injuries he suffered were not described, but were said to be major. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as a resident of Santa Paula, 54 years old. His name has not been reported.
Responders also transported the driver to VCMC. The injuries he suffered were described as minor.
