Woman Struck and Killed in Parking Lot of Nursing Facility in Santa Paula, CA
SANTA PAULA, CA (October 5, 2021) – Early in the evening on Friday in Santa Paula, a woman in a wheelchair was struck and killed. The October 1 crash occurred on March Street in the 200 block, at the Vista Cove Nursing Facility parking lot.
The time was roughly 7:46 p.m., according to Santa Paula Police.
A vehicle–which has not been described–hit a woman who was in a wheelchair. The vehicle was traveling in the parking lot, investigators say.
The impact of the crash sent the woman to fall from the wheelchair. She suffered injuries that were described as major.
Responders transported her to VCMC. She died in the hospital.
She was identified only as 79 years old. Her name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. The person has not been identified in reports.
Investigators are continuing to work on the crash.
