Two Men Suspected of Carjacking Woman’s Vehicle in Santa Paula are Arrested
SANTA PAULA, CA (March 26, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday, a woman’s vehicle was carjacked in Santa Paula and authorities later arrested two suspects. The March 25 incident occurred on March Street in the 200 block.
The time was roughly 2:20 a.m.
Reports say a woman reported to police that she had been forced to exit her car by two men, one of whom held what looked like a gun. The two men drove away in the woman’s vehicle, traveling on Dean Drive and heading south.
A deputy with the Ventura County Sheriff, who received the broadcast from Santa Paula Police about the incident, saw the suspected carjacked vehicle a short time later in Fillmore.
The car was stopped by authorities on Wileman in the 800 block, and the two men suspected of carjacking were apprehended. Authorities found a pellet gun at the scene.
The two men were arrested on suspicion of carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing. They were identified as Andres Catalan, 21 years old and a resident of Santa Paula; and Alfredo Duenas, 21 years old and a resident of Port Hueneme.
The identity of the carjacking victim has not been reported, including her name, age, and city of residence.
Investigators are continuing to gather information and evidence regarding the incident.
