SANTA MARIA, CA (August 16, 2022) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in Santa Maria, multiple vehicles collided on Highway 101, causing lane closures and injuries.
The August 16 crash occurred on the northbound side of the roadway, south of Highway 166 East, and at the Santa Maria River Bridge.
The time was roughly a little after 6:15 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities said three vehicles collided, but the manner in which the crash happened, and what led to it, have not been reported. The vehicles have not been described.
The crash blocked all of the northbound lanes of the roadway.
Responders worked to free two people from the wreckage.
