Three-vehicle Collision on Highway 1 Near Santa Maria Causes Injuries
SANTA MARIA, CA (June 6, 2019) – Three vehicles collided in the morning on Wednesday on Highway 1 near Santa Maria, causing injuries. The June 5 incident occurred at Brown Road, west of the city.
The time was roughly 11:25 a.m.
Reports say a vehicle—described as Mercedes Benz, white in color—had been traveling north on Highway 1. The Mercedes collided with another vehicle—described as Toyota Highlander. A third vehicle—described as a Dodge truck—was also struck.
The occupants of the Mercedes were identified as two people who were on a visit from Australia. One of the occupants—identified only as a woman—suffered injuries that were described as moderate. Respondents transported her to a hospital. It is not known from reports if the other occupant of the Mercedes was injured. The identities of the two people have not been reported.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said three other people were injured in the incident, with their injuries being described as minor. The identities of the victims, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported. It is not known what vehicle each victim had been traveling in, and who was a driver or a passenger.
