RV on Metrolink Tracks Struck by Train, Erupts in Flames in Santa Fe Springs
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (November 22, 2019) – Early in the morning on Friday in Santa Fe Springs, a vehicle described as an RV that was on Metrolink Tracks was struck by a train. The RV erupted in flames in the November 22 incident, which occurred close to the Marquardt Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue intersection.
The time was roughly 5:45 a.m.
Reports say the Metrolink train had been traveling on the Orange County Line and heading to Los Angeles when it hit the RV. The RV erupted in flames.
According to Scott Johnson, who is a spokesperson with Metrolink, it is not known if anyone who had been in the RV was hurt in the incident. No one who had been aboard the train at the time of the crash was reported injured.
The person who had been driving the RV has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone had been traveling as a passenger in that vehicle.
Investigators are working to collect details and information regarding the incident.
