Multiple Crashes on Rain-slicked Roads in Santa Clarita Valley Cause Injuries
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY, CA (March 18, 2020) – Rain-slicked roads caused a number of crashes in Santa Clarita Valley on Monday. The March 16 incidents resulted in injuries and damage.
In one incident, a pickup truck overturned near the San Fernando Pass at roughly 4:15 p.m., according to Leslie Lua. Lua is a spokesperson with Los Angeles County Fire.
The pickup crashed near Sierra Highway and Clampitt Road. It landed on its side, but no details are known about the circumstances that preceded the incident.
The person who had been driving the pickup truck has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known what types of injuries the person suffered, nor the current condition.
Reports do not say if anyone had been a passenger in the pickup truck. It is not known from reports if another vehicle was involved in the crash.
The roadway was also slick through the Grapevine on I-5, which caused difficulties for drivers.
Investigators are working on understanding the circumstances and factors at play during the traffic incidents.
