Collision on Highway 154 in Santa Barbara County Injures Three People
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (January 7, 2020) – A collision early in the morning on Sunday in Santa Barbara County on Highway 154 injured three people. The January 5 incident occurred in the 2300 block of the highway, near Rancho Alegre.
The time was roughly a little after 12:00 a.m., according to Santa Barbara County Fire.
Reports say two vehicles—which have not been described—collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred was also not described. It is not clear where each vehicle had been traveling prior to the incident.
Responders worked to free one of the victims who was trapped in a wrecked vehicle. Responders transported the victim to a hospital with injuries that were described as life threatening.
The current condition of the person is not known. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Two other people who had been involved in the crash suffered injuries that were described as minor. Their identities have also not been reported.
Responders transported the three victims to Cottage Hospital. Neither of the drivers has been identified.
Investigators are working to understand the sequence of events that led to the crash. They are collecting information about the incident.
