Santa Ana Collision Injures Three People Fleeing Deputies
SANTA ANA, CA (September 12, 2018) – A vehicle fleeing an attempted traffic stop by sheriff’s deputies crashed Tuesday night in Santa Ana. The collision, which occurred not far from where Chestnut Avenue and Lyon Street intersect, injured three people.
Carrie Braun, who is with the Orang County Sheriff’s Department, said that deputies tried to stop the vehicle close to Main Street and Lyon Street for a code violation. The person driving the vehicle, however, fled. The deputies lost sight of the fleeing vehicle.
Not far away from the previous sighting, deputies saw the vehicle near the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Lyon Street. According to Braun, the vehicle crashed in that location.
Responders took the driver to a hospital. No other details where reported yet as to the identities of the people involved, the types of injuries they may have suffered, and if any other cars or vehicles were involved in the collision.
