Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Bristol Street in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (July 7, 2020) – On Sunday night in Santa Ana, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The July 5 incident occurred where Myrtle Street and Bristol Street intersect.
The time was roughly a little after 10:00 p.m., according to Santa Ana Police.
Reports say a man had been walking across Bristol Street, and a vehicle–which was southbound–struck him. The driver stayed at the incident site.
Responders from Orange County Fire Authority arrived, and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene of the crash. His identity–including name, age, and city of residence–has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the incident was identified as Bryan Lemus, a resident of Santa Ana 19 years old.
According to reports, authorities think speed may have contributed to the incident. Police arrested Lemus on suspicion of felony vehicle manslaughter.
