Man Identified as Victim Killed by Hit-and-run driver in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (May 26, 2020) – David Barrera was identified by family as the victim who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver last week in Santa Ana. The May 18 incident occurred close to where St. Anne Place and Raitt Street intersect.
The time was roughly 11:00 p.m.
Reports say Barrera was crossing the street when a vehicle struck him. Video recorded near the incident site captured Barrera jogging on the sidewalk before he was struck.
Barrera died at the crash site. He was 32 years old, and a science and math teacher.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved, described as a four-door sedan, white in color. They are also searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, and for other video of the incident.
