Crash on West Mission Road Kills Pedestrian in San Marcos, CA
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 10, 2022) – Late at night on Tuesday in San Marcos, a pedestrian was struck and killed. The February 8 crash occurred on West Mission Road close to Las Posas Road.
The time was roughly a little before 11:30 p.m., the San Diego County Sherriff’s Department said.
A vehicle–described as a Dodge Ram pickup truck–had been heading westbound on West Mission Road when it struck the pedestrian. It is not yet known exactly where the pedestrian had been walking when he was struck.
Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as 29 years old.
His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who was driving the pickup truck was identified only as 56 years old. His name and city of residence have also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can contact Brian Bentley, who is a deputy.
