Motorcyclist Collides with Vehicle on Highway 1 Near Ragged Point in San Luis Obispo County
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (May 23, 2019) – A rider collided with a vehicle on Highway 1 near Ragged Point, and crashed his motorcycle in the afternoon on Wednesday. The May 22 incident occurred near the Ragged Point Inn.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist had been traveling southbound and he went over the center line. The rider sideswiped a vehicle, and the force of the collision threw him from the motorcycle.
Respondents arrived on scene and transported the injured rider to Ragged Point Inn. From there, the victim was transported by airlift to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center located in San Luis Obispo, where he received treatment. The types of injuries the victim suffered have not been reported, and his current condition is not known. The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The vehicle involved in the incident has not been described, and the driver of the vehicle has not been identified. It is not known if the person who was driving the vehicle suffered any injury in the incident, and if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle.
