Highway 101 Accidents in San Luis Obispo County Occur During Thursday’s Hail Storm

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (March 27, 2020) – A number of accidents occurred on Highway 101 in the northern part of San Luis Obispo County in the afternoon on Thursday during the hail storm. The March 26 incidents occurred in the vicinity of Stockdale Road and San Ramon Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the road surface had ice on it when the hail storm occurred.

Reports say a number of accidents happened, but no details are known regarding how many vehicles were involved. The vehicles have not been described. The exact number of incidents is also not clear, such as whether the crashes were a chain-reaction series of events, or distinct crashes in different areas.

Reports do not say if anyone was hurt during the incidents. The identities of the drivers involved in the crashes is not known, nor whether passengers were traveling in any affected vehicle.
