Highway 101 Crash Between Avila Beach and Pismo Beach Injures Five
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (April 6, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon in San Luis Obispo County, three vehicles collided on Highway 101, injuring five people. The April 3 incident occurred on the roadway’s lanes that head south, in an area between Pismo Beach and Avila Beach, according to reports.
The time was roughly 3:07 p.m., CAL FIRE said.
In an area near the offramp for Shell Beach Road, three vehicles–which have not been described–collided, for reasons that are not known. The manner in which the crash occurred has not been described.
Responders arrived and found five people had been injured. Responders took two people to a hospital, San Luis Obispo Fire Department said. None of the victims have been identified, including who the driver of each vehicle had been when the crash occurred.
The types of injuries the people suffered, and their current condition, are not known. Investigators are continuing their work to understand the incident.
