San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 101 Kills Running Pedestrian
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (October 16, 2020) – Early in the morning on Thursday in San Luis Obispo, a person who was going across Highway 101 on foot was struck and killed. The October 15 incident occurred near Madonna Road and to the south of it, on the southbound side of the highway.
The time was roughly 4:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
The victim had been trying to run from the center divider, across the highway’s lanes, when a vehicle struck him.
Responders arrived and found the person had died. He was identified only as a resident of Los Osos, 55 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified as a resident of San Luis Obispo, 49 years old. Her name has not been reported.
Investigators are working on the crash details, and furthering their efforts to collect information.
