Victims Identified as Drivers Killed in Highway 101 Wrong-way Collision
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (June 14, 2019) – Anthony Scott Au and Nicole Annalise Scalone were identified by the California Highway Patrol as the two drivers who died in San Luis Obispo on Highway 101 in a wrong-way collision. The June 12 incident occurred near Higuera Street, and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Reports say Scalone had been traveling south in a Ford Fiesta in the lanes that are northbound of the highway. Her Ford crashed head-on with the vehicle Au had been driving, described as a Honda Civic.
According to reports, each driver had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Each driver was killed in the crash. Au was 43 years old and a resident of Los Osos. Scalone was 22 years old and a resident of Bellevue, Washington.
