One-year-old Boy Killed in San Jacinto When Vehicle Backs into Him
SAN JACINTO, CA (February 13, 2019) – A one-year-old boy was killed in the afternoon on Monday in San Jacinto when a vehicle backed into him. The February 11 accident occurred on East Third Street in the 300 block.
The time was roughly 3:45 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say that the vehicle had been backing out of the driveway where the child was. Sheriff’s officials said that the person who was driving did not know the boy had been behind the vehicle.
Respondents arrived and took the boy to a hospital in the area. He had suffered injuries that were described as major. The boy died in the hospital.
The person who had been driving the vehicle—identified only as a man—stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Coroner’s officials identified the boy as Anthony Carreon, who lived in San Jacinto. The identity of the driver, including the man’s name and age, have not yet been reported. It is not known from reports if the man and the boy were related.
No other details are available at this time. Investigators are continuing to examine the information regarding the accident.
