According to authorities, the pedestrian accident unfolded when a 27-year-old man, making a southbound turn onto Mira Mesa Boulevard, lost control of his Fiat Spider for reasons yet unknown. The vehicle, unable to maintain traction, fishtailed and collided with a young woman who was walking in the vicinity. Notably, during the course of the accident, the vehicle also impacted an MTS bus stop.

Promptly responding to the scene, paramedics attended to the victim and swiftly transported her to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where she is being treated for a serious leg injury. The driver of the Fiat Spider remained at the crash site, cooperating with police investigators. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident necessitate further examination.
