Pursuit Crash on I-15 near Carmel Mountain Rd. Injures Two Drivers In San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 11, 2022) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in San Diego, a driver fleeing police pursuit collided with another vehicle, injuring both drivers. The October 10 crash occurred on I-15, close to where Carmel Mountain Road is located.
The time was before 6:30 a.m., San Diego Police said.
According to authorities, officers with San Diego Police tried to pull a car over for a traffic violation. The car has not been described.
The driver did not stop, but drove away with police pursuing.
The suspect driver entered I-15 on the southbound side, and in an area near Carmel Mountain Road, the vehicle the suspect was driving struck the rear end of a milk truck.
The force of the crash sent the milk truck to overturn.
Responders found the driver of each vehicle was trapped in the wreckage.
Responders worked to free each of the drivers, and they transported the two patients to local hospitals.
Neither person has been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Investigators are at work to collect details and information related to the pursuit and the crash.
